Ipsy November 2014: Girl Meets Glitter!

Ipsy bags can sometimes be a total joy or a disappointment. This month I was very excited about receiving my bag because Ipsy's Instagram account had been showing sneak peeks of many products I had been dying to try out for a long time.  Unfortunately, none of the products I wanted arrived in my Ipsy bag, instead I got some products I've seldom heard of and aren't all that exciting in my opinion.

Since this month's theme was all about glitter, I must say the glitterness of the contents is seriously lacking.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye in Neutral Medium ($10.00)
I've heard of bit about It Cosmetics over the past year, always good things. So getting this tiny sample of their popular under eye concealer is a good thing.  Let me just say again, the sample is tiny. It'll most likely last me a couple weeks. Let's hope this stuff rocks.

SeaRx Birch Sap Moisturizing Lotion ($2.40)
Again a very minuscule sample. Skincare is one of those things that needs to be tested long term in order to really get a feel for the product. This smells good, maybe I'll test it out, but I've been really liking my skincare routine as of late so I don't really want to add new products right now.

J.Cat Wonder Lip Paint in Mad Splatter ($4.99)
Bold lip products are my thing lately and as soon as I saw this I wiped off the lipstick I was already wearing and put this stuff on. Let me tell you, this stuff is great! The colour is bold and shiny and has this duo-chrome effect of blue hues. It's fabulous and will be great for the holidays. The only down side is that it's a paint, which means it needs to be applied with a brush, which requires more faff and that's never ideal, but for a colour so great, I'll put up with it... once in a while.

Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil in Ultra Olive ($17.00)
Beautiful! That is enough to describe this highly pigmented, buttery and blend able eyeliner. The colour is great for fall and winter, and with that little hint of glitter, it's perfect for the holidays.

Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray ($1.76)
I've tried the shampoo and conditioner from this line in the past and have liked them both. These products always smell so good and it feels so indulgent to use them. This hairspray doesn't smell as yummy, it has the typical hairspray scent. Since it has argan oil I'm hoping this stuff has some benefits and won't damage my hair too much.

This month's bag's total is $36.15

As I said above, I wasn't blown away by the products in my bag this month, many other products could have been in there and been much more exciting in my opinion, especially the really small samples...

Anyways, those were the products in my Ipsy bag this month, let's hope December is better.

xx

  1. I got the J. Cat Wonder Paint in my Ipsy bag this month too, and it's probably my favorite product out of the lot. I've just been applying it with a q-tip lately - which works well enough if you're using it more as a stain. I def need to stop and pick up a lip brush for it though! [=
