November Favorites 2014

Another month gone and that means 2014 is almost over. I'm definitely excited for 2015, but right now I'm more excited to share my November faves :)

The cold weather has finally arrived in Canada, and we even had some snowfall in the middle of the month. It's no longer time for oil control and extra mattifying products. My skin has needed hydration , so the products shown here are mostly about keeping my skin winter happy.

Here are the products that made the cut this month...

The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Night Treatment
I was running low on my other serums and I needed to use some products up. I chose to try this out, it's been in my stash for a while now but I've never thought much of it. I gave it a go during the month of November and surprisingly, I really like it! It's not drying, which The Body Shop products sometimes tend to be, and it does help keep blemishes at bay. It's a great product and the price is very attractive as well!

MAC All Fired Up Matte Lipstick
Earlier this month I decided to chop my hair to a shoulder-length bob.  For some reason I find that wearing a bold lip looks absolutely stunning with shorter hair. Therefore, I've been rocking a darker or bold lip almost everyday this month.  The one that I love the most and that I get the most compliments on is MAC's All Fired Up. It's a dark fuchsia colour that makes my teeth look nice and white. Such a gorgeous colour and absolutely perfect for fall and winter.

Bath and Body Works Merry Cookie Candle
Cold weather and the close-approaching holidays call for candles that smell like baked goods. This is exactly that! With a name like 'Merry Cookie', would you expect anything less? It's a very sweet scent, but not at all overpowering. I've been burning pretty much everyday, so I'll soon need a refill.  Good thing this scent is in stock again this year :)

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles in Fair
Now this is maybe THE most talked about drugstore concealer on Youtube. It is raved about constantly and eventually I couldn't take it anymore, went to the store, and bought the darned thing. Well, let me tell you this, it's freaking amazing! It covers and brightens excellently under the eyes and the creasing is minimal to non-existent which is always essential in a concealer.

Dr. Jart Black Label Detox Beauty Balm + Urban Decay Naked Skin Liquid Makeup
I've mentioned the Dr. Jart+ BB cream before, I still love it and use almost everyday.  However, I've been mixing it with a more dewy foundation to add more of a glow since my skin has been needing more moisture lately. I love the finish of these two products together! A very natural, not too matte, not too dewy finish, perfect for winter.

MAC Fix+
A setting spray is an absolute essential for me. I cannot walk out of the house without spritzing my face with something to keep the makeup in place all day long. I love the Urban Decay setting sprays, but during the colder seasons my skin needs more hydration than oil control. Fix+ feels great on the skin, smells fresh and leaves the skin feeling good and ready for the day.

And that concludes this month's favourites !

Let me know what you all have been loving :)

xx

  1. I love that Maybelline concealer, too! My mom uses it, and when I'm home I like to steal a bit from her. (Sorry, mom!)
